Abstract Art Mini-Series: Cold Spectrum
This small series came about completely by serendipity. I had expected these works to simply be yet another five works in the Tikkun Olam series. But then I started to see that in fact that series was ready to split into sub-series - offshoots of the overarching theme that should more properly stand on their own. And these five pieces, for all they appear to be in the same family, really stand alone. In fact, they tell their own little series story.
The opening scene is the most varied in numbers of colors crowding the canvas. This piece, at four inches by four inches, is the largest of the paintings. "Shaken, Not Stirred" depicts a cool palette of seemingly jumbled colors, mostly in blues but reds and purples are represented.
Following that the paintings become less and less varied until finally ending with a work of only one color - purple - plus white. These pieces are all three inches by three inches - large art for small spaces.
