Seed Bead Choices - The Right Bead for the Weave There are so many kinds of beads avaialble today that thinking about it could make your head spin! This first article looks at all the forms a seed bead can take from the very tiny 15/0 size that does indeed look a great deal like a tiny seed to the 4 mm sized 6/0 beads as well as faceted seed beads known as charlottes (and related beads), with a small side trip to briefly consider specialty beads often associated with seed beads, such as bugle beads, triangle beads, magatamas and more. These are where I start. A short tour of my Beaded Jewelry Gallery will give many examples of the imaginative and expert use of seed beads and their relations in fine art beadwork.
