Where is Winter? It may not yet be fully upon us, but nonetheless it isn't too late to start pondering the colors that will be greeting us in the upcoming Spring and Summer fashion season. This season celebrates the tertiary color groups favoring warm tones for both men and women.

corals and heather Despite the normal expectations of verdant abundance, the green hues are mostly absent in the color groups that we'll be seeing this coming Spring. Green, in its many varied shades, pervades the spring as young plants sprout and diciduous trees regain their fluttering mantles. Perhaps because Nature herself will supply such a variety of the greens we need only to supplement these with other colors of our own choosing. Thus it is the other color families, the corals, the blues, the dark yellows and the purples that will be showing up in all the fashion magazines. This vibrantly hued necklace Overnight Success is but one example of jewelry that embodies the lively Spring and Summer seasons.

whirlpool in honey, grape, sodalite blue Neutral colors such as dark sand and warm browns are also very much in evidence. But these are not, for the most part, quiet and unassuming tones. The dark yellow of the Black-eyed Susan acts not as a releif to other rich tones but rather is itself a burst of brilliance perfectly offsetting dark grape jelly colors. Grape earrings, is another example of the rich color we can indulge in.

whirlpool in green, blue and coral For those of you who adore green, however, there is no need to despair of seeing your favorite color. But the greens you will see are not so much flamboyant as they are ripe despite their seemingly muted song. Colors such as a dark grassy green or a tasy olive can be found in combination with dark yellow and soft muted blues. Neutrals are here to stay but they don't have to be boring. Your color palette can be as wide and varied as you like. This pair of earrings, Harlequin is one way one to show off a varied palette and these will enhance the look of a large number of Spring and Summer ensembles.
