Red Sky at Night
There is a rhyme that begins "red sky at night, sailors delight." These earrings are an abstract rendering of a the red sky at dusk at the beach.
The technique is a Russian variation of Peyote Stitch. This weave works upward and outward forming a body that reminds me of a shawl or a pair of stylized wings.
