Foliage Inspiration
I love trees; always have. I even remember staring at them from a classroom window instead of taking notes in elementary school. Here are a few pieces apparently equally inspired from verdant foliage.
Coquis and Foliage Wood Carving You be astounded by this framed carving by Susana Caban. I certainly am. It’s beautiful.
Light in the Forest by Impressions Gallery. Unusual jewel colors make this work stand out.
My Grandma’s Lilacs – Sterling Silver Earrings by Strands of Light. Sweet leaves and tiny glass flowers dangle gracefully and prettily. These are unusual and lovely.
Band of Leaves is a bead woven bracelet by LaBellaJoya. The technique is a Russian Leaf stitch and this is a perfect use of the stitch. The artist is a fellow member of the Etsy Bead Weavers Street Team.

Thank you. I’ve always found nature to be my strongest inspiration.

I LOVE the leaf bracelet. And I’m Russian too (well, part Russian). Is there anywhere that you know of that has a tutorial for this stitch?

I learned it from a Russian language beading book. It’s possible a web search can find something. Or you could wait for my next tutorial to come out this Summer.
