Fall Business Women Online Expo Booth 25
Girls Night Out
We haven’t met but we are a network of women coming together to celebrate ourselves, a worldwide evolution of entrepreneurial women. This is Girls Night Out!
And maybe the day as well. First, thank you for dropping by and adding to the excitement. There are approximately 30 of us here all welcoming you to this unique online art event. Before you leave for the next booth (by clicking on the badge (image) at the top of this post), please feel free to leave a comment.
I am a lifelong artist, a retired Dancer (as if I could ever stop moving!) and avocational rogue astronomer. My passion is to create sumptuous one of a kind, museum quality art jewelry and emotionally stirring fine art that enriches the lives of discerning individuals now and far into the future. My work appeals to those who dance to their own rhythm, create their own style and don’t just follow the crowd.
My favorite jewelry techniques include intricate bead weaving and I have even invented a stitch of my own (published in the July/August 2009 edition of Step by Step Beads. I mix stitches and meld them to create wearable sculpture. Of course, commissions require that I ply my fingers to create a piece that fits another person’s needs but even so, the heart that goes into the work is still mine so in that way some of my clients become collaborators. As for materials, I love anything that sparkles but I also adore mixing matte finished seed beads with shimmery silver lined beads and glittering faceted gemstones.
As a fine artist my first love is the blank piece of paper waiting for me to fill it. Or canvas. Or board. Or even the sidewalk (though those don’t last). I started with oils which remain my first love but I have found that each medium has its own special characteristics that make them all exciting to work with. I have also developed a painterly style of applying Prisma color pencils that I call PrismaPainting.
As an entrepreneur I am active with (and have been elected as a board member of) the Micro Enterprise Resource Group here in Connecticut. One of our main goals is to be a resource for and supported of awareness of small local businesses. And that definitely must include us artists!
I have several cyber homes for my work including my website, Silver Dragon Creations by Patricia C Vener, my etsy shop, Silver Dragon Creations at Etsy, and a 1000Markets shop, Silver Dragon Creations at 1000 Markets.
I also have this blog, a subscription newsletter, Subscribe at this page, as well as:
Twitter: http://twitter.com/AgDrgn/
Facebook: http://facebook.com/SilverDragonPatriciaCVener/
and other cyber haunts.
I will be uploading pictures throughout the day so if you have a favorite, let me know.
Now for your reward: If you purchase anything during this event, use the code FBWOE-25 for a 10% discount on your purchase at any of my shops. Just send me a message with that code and the discount amount will be refunded to you.
HIdden reward: Drawing for gift certificate of 25% discount to be drawn on Wednesday 30 September 2009 (will be announced in my newsletter as well as on the blog). I will be using a random number generator based on the number of comments (excluding my own responses, of course) and I will be awarding 3 of these discounts.

Thank you Denise!
Stacy, it may just be my browser, Opera, is incompatible with something (a flash thing?) on your blog. I still think the physics/astronomy connection is very cool!

Your work is STUNNING! I love the tubular purple necklace on your etsy site, and I really like the cherry twist. I could see myself wearing both of those.
